Andrew was born and raised in Ayr—just a few miles from Robert Burns’ birthplace of Alloway. He is considered one of the world’s foremost performers of Burns’ works when it comes to recitation. He was the Scottish champion for recitation in 1997 and has performed the bard’s works all over the world. For years he was the face of Burns on the Scottish government’s website Scotland.org and for two separate campaigns at Disney’s Epcot center in Florida. He now works in the spirits industry, having managed and grown brands such as The Balvenie and Aberlour. He is the co-founder and Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer of Martingale Cognac. Prior to his spirits career, he ran two successful entertainment companies back in Scotland and was a professional actor – notably appearing as Young Hamish in Braveheart in addition to five years in children’s and comedy at the BBC. Andrew served for five years on the U.S. board of the National Theatre of Scotland. He has been named an Icon of Whisky and was awarded the keys to the city of New Orleans in 2011. He was co-creator and Executive Producer of the award-winning online show Raw Craft with Anthony Bourdain.
